For Saturday June 11

A few things as we get into the last week of the season:

- This is really important. There was an accident up on the football field away from the baseball field during one of the games. Its imperative that we don't leave any bats laying around or allow kids to play with them away from the baseball field without direct eyes on, adult supervision.

- On a more celebratory note, I know many of you are planning end of the season parties to mark your teams accomplishments this season. We did a great job in keeping the track and field area clean and free of food and garbage all season thanks to you all. This has helped immensely in winning over the confidence of the school in allowing to continue the snack shack operations. As such, if we could have the team festivities off the main field area down by the picnic tables that would be great. You all are welcome to bring anything you want to eat or drink. I'll have the BBQ down in that area for anyone that wants to use it. Please make sure you bring charcoals and cooking utensils though as we don't have any left from the past few weeks.

- The playoffs were really exciting. It was somewhat of a disappointment that one of the teams had difficulty in fielding a team. It really highlights though the importance of commitment to a team. When the numbers are tight like they were this year if just a couple kids don't show up it has an impact on the 15 or so others that do.... In any case I congratulate all the teams for being good sports.

- This week its the finals, and here's the schedule:
10:00 Tee Ball Astros vs Pirates.
11:00 Coach Pitch Phillies vs Tigers.
12:30 Coach Pitch A's vs Orioles.
14:00 Junior Kid Nationals vs Diamondbacks.
15:30 Junior Kid Royals vs Braves.
17:00 Senior Kid Cardinals vs Brewers.

I hope you all will be out there this Saturday for our last games of the season. Maybe try and come a little early to see how Jake has run the tee ball this year to enhance their enjoyment, or how much the Coach Pitch kids have progressed. Or even stay a little bit later to see how good the Junior Kids can hit and field now, or hang around at the end of the day to watch the Seniors. These kids play hard and they play good.

In next weeks post I'll try and get around to posting a lot of the pictures you all have been sending so don't sign off just yet...

Thanks
