Its hard to believe that we say good bye to another baseball season. June is a real bittersweet time of of year for me and perhaps for all of you as well. On the one hand we've had a great season, seen the kids gain new levels of confidence and believing in themselves, made new friends, and shared a lot of laughs. And as it comes to a close I know I hate to say good bye to all that.
I'd like to say thanks to a lot people here.
- To the coaches. You guys were great. Its been a pleasure working with you all. It was one of the most enjoyable seasons ever having all of us on the same page with common goals. I thank you all for your time and dedication.
- To Roland (our umpire). Roland my knees and I can't thank you enough. Having you back there behind the plate was much appreciated. Your knowledge of the game and enthusiasm made our Saturdays that much more enjoyable.
- To Cindy and the kids that helped out in the snack shack- Thanks. We had record sales this year no doubt enhanced by all of your efforts.
- To Irene- We all know that none of this would be possible without your help and support. Thanks.
- To the parents. Your support has been exceptional. I know getting up early those cold Saturday mornings, getting the kids going, missing lunches with family and friends, and sacrificing chunks of your weekends and free time to support the baseball league has been great.
- And lastly to the kids. You all are the best. I consider you all my kids and its been nothing less than fantastic seeing you all develop as players, grow, and gain confidence by the week.
To those moving on from Madrid to other parts of the world, we wish you happy landings and good luck with your new beginnings. We hope you'll bring fond memories of Madrid League Baseball wherever you go.
To those coming back I wish you a great summer, safe travels, and can't wait to see you again come the next chance we have to play a little baseball.
Thanks
PS If anyone has any pictures they can send me I'd love to have them so I can post them up here.
